This winter semester, we are launching HTTPerspectiveS, a program designed to give students exciting insights into current challenges and innovative solutions in the health tech sector.

9th SemesterHTTPerspectiveS kicks off in the winter semester 2026/27, bringing together students from diverse fields to tackle real healthcare challenges where clinical practice, research, and technology meet.
The program is organised under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Stephan Jonas (Institute for Digital Medicine, University Hospital Bonn) and consists of three parts:
🏥 Clinical practice
Visits to different medical departments at the University Hospital Bonn will provide insight into clinical workflows, current technologies, and challenges in everyday medical practice. The focus is on understanding where technological solutions are already being used and where there are still practical needs that are not adequately addressed.
🌐 Ecosystem Tours
Participants will gain direct perspectives from research institutions, start-ups, and established companies across the Bonn/Rhineland region regarding the development and practical implementation of healthcare technologies.
🌳 The Make-a-Thon
The program concludes with a Make-a-Thon in January. Building on the preceding visits and discussions, interdisciplinary teams will work on specific healthcare challenges and develop their own approaches to addressing them.
The program consists of approximately 5–6 sessions in the late afternoon or evening during the semester, followed by a full Make-a-Thon weekend in January.
Interdisciplinary perspective: Exchange and connect with students from medicine, computer science, mathematics, engineering, economics, and related fields.
Clinical and industrial contexts: Learn about clinical workflows, medical technologies, and their development through visits and discussions with clinicians, researchers, and companies.
Practical experience: Work in an interdisciplinary team on a concrete healthcare problem during the Make-a-Thon.
Certificate: Participants who attend at least 80% of the programme will receive a certificate of participation.
Any interested student! Backgrounds in medicine, computer science, engineering, or related fields are welcome. Since several sessions and guest talks are held in English, working proficiency is recommended.
